My Story...

  • When we decided to order the t-shirts as a way to raise money for Jesus in Haiti Haiti - TshirtsMinistires, the vendor Mark Fore decided to donate the cost of the screen printing and the set up fee. He then charged us his wholesale cost for the t-shirts...all to benefit Haiti. What a great story.
  • On Sunday morning, someone wrote a check for $300 for one t-shirt, someone else, a check for $500, what great examples of God's generosity.
  • God is moving the hearts and minds of our church body. For example, the the owner of local business, Painting Fun Spot, contacted us about selling the Help Heal T-shirts at his business and collecting donations to support Jesus in Haiti Ministries. Another great story.
  • In one evening, FUEL raised over $1,000 on January 17th through t-shirt sales and donations. Amazing.
  • The Christmas Eve Offering allowed us to have already purchased water filters that were immediately sent to Haiti. Seriously, what a God thing.

There are a lot of stories out there. What's your story? Send it here so we can
capture the stories of God's movements so that later we can re-tell what He has done.

From the Live Like You Were Dying Series:
December 14, 2006 is the day that changed my life
...and made me live like I was dying.
You see my husband of almost 10 years was killed at work (Steel Dynamics) that morning when steel fell on him and he died instantly.  Jimmy K. Hall was only 41 and I was 36...we're too young...this shouldn't be happening to us.

The phone call I received was of utter disbelief...we had dinner plans the next night with friends...he couldn't die....he knew we already made plans (WHAT SHOCK I WAS IN).  After I came to and realized this is true... I immediately got on my knees and asked God to help me... to be able to tell our 15 year old son and 8 year old daughter that their father had died.

It is amazing how God literally picked me up just like in "Footprints" when I could no longer walk.   Since then...things that use to bother me...just don't...I try to speak sweeter and do things that maybe I wouldn't have done years ago before he died.  Without the hope of God and his grace...I never would have gotten through such a horrible time.   Even through I walk through the Valley of death....God is with me.  I think God for all his love, grace and hope.

My small group is completing the LLYWD study together on Tuesday evenings.  I really look forward to Tuesdays knowing that I get to gather with my girlfriends and focus on God's word and how we're going to make the most of our time here on Earth.

We met for the first time last night and it's so neat to hear everone's stories and how we're all so different.  It surprised me that I was so emotional as I began the study at home on Sunday after Stan's first message.  Dying is not something we're used to talking about!  I look forward to discovering how I will change my priorites throughout this study!
